Our new website – welcome!

As CERN‘s Large Hadron Collider winds down operations for 2015 with a record-breaking heavy ion run, we’re delighted to announce the launch of the GridPP Collaboration‘s new website at https://www.gridpp.ac.uk. The site has been completely redesigned and reorganised to provide a friendlier, easier-to-use window into the world of GridPP for new user communities and the wider public. We hope you like it!

Out with the old… the previous incarnation of the GridPP website. If you’re feeling nostalgic, the old content can be found here (grid certificate required).

As well using open-source frameworks to optimise the site for mobile, tablets, and desktop browsers, we’ve added our own twist: Andrew McNab (Uni. Manchester) has developed a plug-in that allows x.509 user verification via your grid certificate. The GridPP project is built around the principles and philosophy of Open Source software – and you can find the code for the plug-in and more on our GridPP GitHub repository.

In with the new...

In with the new… the new GridPP homepage. Our new website is designed for use on mobile, tablets and desktop browsers. Try re-sizing the browser window to see it in action!

The site is for Collaboration members too, of course – see the Collaboration section for more information. The GridPP Wiki is in the same place at http://www.gridpp.ac.uk/wiki, where you’ll find the same in-depth technical documentation written by and for the GridPP community. And if you’re missing the old website, worry not – for simplicity, everything that was there can now be found at https://archive.gridpp.ac.uk (grid certificate required).

A lot of things on the previous website were very Collaboration-specific, so not everything has or will be moved to the new, public-facing website. If you think anything is missing from the new Collaboration page, please get in touch to let us know. For example, the recently updated GridPP Travel Policy (with the updated link to the external Visit Notice form) may be found here.

We really hope you enjoy using our new website. If you have any feedback or suggestions for improvements, we’d love to hear them – please do get in touch and we’ll be happy to help.
