check-vacd − Nagios monitor for the Vac daemon

SYNOPSIS

chec-vacd

DESCRIPTION

vacd is a daemon which implements the Vacuum model on a factory (hypervisor) machine. check-vacd is a Nagios monitor which uses the vacd factory-heartbeat and responder-heartbeat files in /var/lib/vac to check that vacd is still running. The counts file is used to include the total number of virtual machines and the number that are running in the Nagios status message.

USAGE

check-vacd is run from the Nagios nrpe dameon on the factory machine. A line like this in nrpe.cfg will cause NRPE to run check-vacd, and asks check-vacd to raise an alarm if more than 600 seconds has passed without a heartbeat:

command[check-vacd]=/usr/sbin/check-vacd 600
