RAL Tier1 Operations Report for 27th September 2017
| Review of Issues during the week 20th to 27th September 2017.

- We have had continued problems with the LHCb SRM SAM tests since the 8th September. Two disk servers that are involved in the failing transfers have been set read-only and the tests now appear to pass consistently. However, the problem is not yet fully understood. LHCb are not seeing operational problems as a result of this.

- There is a problem on the site firewall which is causing problems for some specific data flows. Discussions have been taking place with the vendor. This is having an effect on our data that flows through the firewall (such as to/from worker nodes).

- CVMFS Stratum-1 servers (stratum01 and strtaum02.gridpp.rl.ac.uk) have been upgraded to cvmfs-server v2.4.1
- The ongoing re-distribution of data in Echo onto the 2015 capacity hardware is taking place. This is being done cautiously owing to the ongoing problem where disk errors in the newly added systems trigger a bug in CEPH that requires some manual intervention to work round.

| The following items are being discussed and are still to be formally scheduled and announced.

Pending - but not yet formally announced:
- Upgrade the FTS3 service to a version that will no longer support the SOAP interface. The SOAP interface was disabled on Monday (17th July).
- Re-distribute the data in Echo onto the 2015 capacity hardware. (Ongoing)

- Around 300TB of CMS dark data has been found and some of this now deleted.
- MICE now taking data. No problems to report at the moment.
- We now have data from four of the Dirac sites. A total of around 2Petabytes.
- Discussion around support for the LFC. Jeremy Coles is checking if the developers are planning to drop support.
