  • Steve: who knows how to use xrdcp?
  • 18th June WLCG ops meeting. Agenda and notes.

Monday 11th June

  • There is a pre-GDB Tuesday on benchmarking.
  • There is a June GDB on Wednesday.
  • HEPSYSMAN is next week 18th-19th June - so no ops meeting next Tuesday.
  • Winnie – 8th June problem with argo-mon.egi.eu
  • Progress towards running LSST DESC data challenge on GridPP. Lack of multicore option in DIRAC for per VO basis.
  • DPM 1.10.2 update issue
  • dCache and IPv6: GridFTP doors and pools require that if a client can connect to an IPv6 address on an interface, that interface should also have an IPv4 address to which that client can connect.
  • Brian: requested input last week to Hardware for Grid SE page.
  • Of note: VO vo.geoss.eu status from Pending to Production
  • APEL: delay in processing VM accounting records and new cloud data appearing in the Portal during the week of the 11th to 15th June. This is so that the APEL Repository can be updated to correctly assign the usage VMs incur to individual months when they run over month boundaries (i.e. long running VMs). This requires reloading a large volume of existing cloud accounting data once the update has been applied.
  • May A/R (waiting for replies to 6th June request):
    • ALICE All OK
    • Atlas RHUL 81% Lanc 86%
    • LHCB RHUL 76% Bristol 74% (Availability only)
    • CMS Bristol 77%
  • WLCG weekly ops meeting minutes from Monday 11th.
  • Today there are issues affecting the databases that GOCDB relies on, leading to very slow responses through the portal and API.

Monday 21st May

  • CHEP 2018 registration is open until June 2nd.
  • As of 15th May: EUGridPMA have announced a new set of CA rpms.
  • AD will talk on Rucio work at the storage meeting tomorrow.
  • The WLCG weekly ops meeting takes place on Tuesday this week (meeting notes).

    • Balazs Konya is new in the role of WLCG Middleware Officer.
    • Next meeting 7th June.
    • Delay for submission of GGUS tickets for recalculation should be respected. It is 10 days after monthly drafts of the availability reports are sent around by WLCG project office. If the GGUS tickets are not submitted respecting 10 days delay, they are not accepted.
    • A/R recalculations will be accepted if they are relevant to the site MoU commitment or concern time ranges of sufficient length.

Monday 5th March

  • The agenda and minutes from the WLCG ops coordination meeting last week are available.

Tuesday 11th June Report for the Experiments Liaison Report (11/06/2018) is here.

  • Continuing problems with small VOs and Castor (BDii) - Please be advised that in the light of the impact on a number of smaller VO's the removal of this service has caused, that Castor information (at least in the short term), is now being published in the BDii.

  • IPv6 use - how to ensure IPv6 only transfers

Wed 16 May

  • Operational issues some of which at least are due to timeouts hardwired in the system.

Tier-2 Evolution - GridPP JIRA

Tuesday 5th Jun

Tuesday 15th May

Tuesday 8th May

  • Updated the instructions in the wiki about supporting GridPP DIRAC Service VOs at Vac sites. This makes use of the multipart vacuum pipes in Vac 3.0, which allow the definitions of multiple VMs to be obtained from a single JSON file: https://www.gridpp.ac.uk/wiki/Vac_configuration_for_GridPP_DIRAC (The same mechanism will work in Vcycle 1.0)

Tickets

Monday 25th June 2018, 15.00 BST

38 Open UK Tickets this week.

BRUNEL
133956 (9/3)
Any update for this CMS xroot ticket? The VO re-poked the ticket a few weeks ago and they were still seeing unwanted behaviour. In progress (15/6)

TIER 1
135455 (31/5)
CMS Checksums failing. After Chris cleared up some bad files it still looks like a few more persist at the last update. In progress (4/6)

135293 (23/5)
ROD ticket for Castor after the publisher was took offline. Daniela notes that the alarms have gone from the dashboard and asks if things are fixed - I believe that a new (if temporary) publisher was put in place? On hold (25/6)

SHEFFIELD
134947 (4/5)
Atlas file transfers. It looks like atlas are just reusing the old ticket for the latest batch of failures they are seeing. Reopened (11/6)

BRISTOL
134820 (29/4)
Can we please close this CMS ticket? The VO doesn't seem bothered with it. In progress (1/5)

RALPP
135552 (7/6)
CMS SAM test failures after a disk node hit some troubles. Taking a look at the test pages it's looking nice and green again so I suspect this ticket can be closed too.

ECDF
135404 (30/5)
Low availability ticket. Looking at the monitoring I see some more blue negative availability days in argo, so it looks like some weird stuff has been going on. It'll be a while before the alarm clears itself (especially as the weekend wasn't great), so this ticket could do with being put on hold. In progress (4/6)
