Welcome to the GridPP DataManagement wiki

This section of the wiki is maintained by Sam Skipsey, specifically to help support UK Tier 2 sites as part of the GridPP (http://www.gridpp.ac.uk/) project. It may also contain things of interest to end users of the LHC Computing Grid (http://lcg.web.cern.ch/LCG/), and anyone else interested in data management issues in grids.

Also maintained by the GridPP Storage and Data Management Group.

Data Management for Sites

For GridPP Tier 2 sites the key data management service which needs to be installed is a local install of the LCG File Catalog.
Tier 2 DM Requirements gives the client components you need at your site.
File Catalog Maintenance gives advice on how to manage files stored at your site which are found in experiment file catalogs.

Transfer Tests

See the 2007-Q1_Transfer Tests summary for the most recent service tests. More recent results are part of the STEP09 WLCG test, and are reported in the relevant locations on WLCG wiki resources.
