What is a Virtual Organisation?
See the GridPP Glossary for more information about Virtual Organisations (VOs).
What is a Regional VO?
For the purposes of getting started with GridPP resources, GridPP has set up a number of Regional Virtual Organisations (VOs) that new users can join based on their location in the UK (i.e. which sites to which they geographically are closest). Users can then use GridPP resources at these sites to test out grid technology and get a feel for what GridPP can offer them without necessarily having to create a new VO.
