Transfer Tests
Manchester installed with LCG 2.6.0 dCache (1.5.2-3) on 10 pool nodes. Alessandra can fill in other details.
Transfer Tests 2005-12-21
Did an intial test of 250x1GB from RAL to Manchester. Channel was set to 5 simultaneous files, and I opted for 10 parallel streams. Rate achieved was very good:
File Transfer log Version: 0.2.0 Date: 1135219140.41 (Thu Dec 22 02:39:00 2005) TransferID: 8ca548f2-7285-11da-a18f-e44be7748cb0 Total 250: Active 0, Done 250, Pending 0, Submitted 0 Transfer Bandwidth Report: 250/250 transferred in 6245.10655403 seconds 250000000000.0 bytes transferred. Transfer Tests 2005-12-22
Did a 1000x1GB file transfer, with the same parameters as the previous night:
./filetransfer.py --number=1000 --delete --ignore-status-error -g="-p 10" \ srm://dcache.gridpp.rl.ac.uk:8443/pnfs/gridpp.rl.ac.uk/data/dteam/tfr2tier2/canned1G \ srm://dcache01.tier2.hep.manchester.ac.uk:8443/pnfs/tier2.hep.manchester.ac.uk/data/dteam/tfrTest2
Started at ~2030. Unfortunately my broadband went wobbly about 2340, so I lost the connection to the UI (filetransfer script exited on the HUP, alas). When it went down it was reporting 500 completed transfers after ~3h10m, which is a rate approaching 350Mb/s.
Checking in the morning, all 1000 transfers completed successfully (a00d249c-7329-11da-a18f-e44be7748cb0) - confirmed by the RAL plot, showing things finished at about 0300.
