Using dCache with an HSM backend can be done using a set of customised scripts or binaries that link the dCache functionality with the specifics of the HSM at each site.

The Edinburgh Tier-2 plans to set up such an HSM interface in order to utilise storage from the SAN over NFS. This is currently configured to be used a dCache read pools.
