DPM Testing

DPM's architecture is such that the namespace server is separate from file transfers, therefore you can test DPNS first, as a precondition to getting anything else to work:

• DPM DPNS Test

Then, if DPNS is functioning, file transfers can be attempted. Internally DPM uses rfiod to transfer files, gridftp is used as the low level transport then the SRM web service is layered on top of this. Thus it's natural to test file transfers in the following order:

• DPM RFIO Test
• DPM GridFTP Test
• DPM SRM 1 Test

If you have added a DPM Disk Pool then the above tests can be modified slightly for DPM Pool Tests.
