Role of the GridPP Tier-2 Board Chair

The Tier-2 Board is the interface between GridPP and the Tier-2 Centres. Its purpose is to agree common policies between GridPP and the four Tier-2 centres and to provide oversight of the use of Tier-2 resources by GridPP and of the GridPP hardware posts at the Tier-2 centres.

The role of the Tier-2 Board Chair is:

• To chair Tier-2 Board meetings.

• To sit on the Project Management Board.

• To ensure that the Tier-2 Board are kept fully aware of any aspects of the project that might affect the Tier-2 centres.

• To ensure that the Project Management Board is full aware of the concerns and priorities of the Tier-2 centres.

• To liaise between the Tier-2 Board members and the Project Management Board on matters of resource, scheduling and policy matters.

• To report quarterly to the Project Manager on the activities of the Tier-2 Hardware support personnel.
