GridPP Roadshow

Tue 14 Apr 2009

After the conference in Catania in March, GridPP has been on the move again with meetings and conferences in Prague, London and Oxford.

One of the most important international meetings for GridPP is the Computing in High Energy Physics (CHEP) conference held every 18 months. The most recent one was in the Czech Republic, the current holders of the EU presidency. As well as having a stand in the exhibition area the collaboration also had posters and presentations from all aspects of the Grid, from monitoring and dashboards to operations and the GOCDB.

The week after CHEP saw the entire GridPP community gather at University College London for the biannual collaboration meeting. The meeting was two days of discussions on the resilience of the Grid and future planning for the Grid in the UK. The conference dinner was sponsored by Boston Ltd with a raffle for two motherboards and a laptop on the night.

Oxford, the week after GridPP22, was the location of the annual Institute of Physics, High Energy Particle Physics group meeting. The meeting is an opportunity for the UK community working on particle physics to discuss and present their work and shape the future of the discipline within the country. GridPP members present included Steve Lloyd, Tony Doyle and Roger Jones among others, as well as a GridPP stand in the exhibition area of the conference.
