Preparing for LCG-1 Deployment
Thu 3 Jul 2003
The first release of the LHC Computing Grid (LCG) is about to be deployed at CERN and several sites around the world including RAL in the UK.
In preparation for this deployment the 7th GridPP Collaboration meeting, held on June 30 to July 2 at St Peter's College Oxford, included a day of special technical sessions with the CERN based LCG software developers. The LCG deployment theme was also taken up in the main GridPP meeting. The whole event was very successful and ensures that the UK is ready to be fully engaged in this very exciting project. The talks from the meeting can be found at http://www.gridpp.ac.uk/gridpp7/ and in particular a summary talk on LCG-1 deployment by the LCG Project Deployment Area Manager at http://www.gridpp.ac.uk/gridpp7/gridpp7_lcg1.ppt There is also an article on the forthcoming LCG Deployment in the July 3 Guardian: http://www.guardian.co.uk/online/news/0,12597,990086,00.html
