Notes on advisories

The GSVG deliverable was approved by the PEB, and accepted by the EU, therefore the GSVG can release advisories on issues according to our process.

7th December 2007

From now on, as new advisories are produced, GSVG will try and indicate who the main risk is against. This may be the User, the VO, the sites deploying the software, the Grid Infrastructure or a third party. Advisories written or released up to now will not be updated to include this information.

GSVG also aims to use standard terms in advisories wherever possible, and improve the quality of the advisories we produce as time goes on.

Please note that not all 'old' issues that have been fixed in the past, i.e. pre summer 2007, have had advisories released on this page. Some have had the advisory included in the release notes, and for some the advisory may have got missed. Sites which have installed the latest updates, will have installed patches for such vulnerabilities.

8th July 2007

We will gradually start placing advisories here. First we will start with advsiories on issues as the patches are released (following the stated process). In parallel we will go through the (moderate to low) risk issues which have passed the target date for which there isn't a patch. As time permits we will go through the issues that have been patched in the last few months where the advisory was not included in the release notes. (Note that from now on the release notes should refer to the advisory, and the advisory will not be included in the release notes.)
