Middleware:
RJ - should be kept in mind that if there is something to be added, mention it.
PH - Catalytic effect of benefit to other UK projects. More broad point.
OS - understanding of deployment within e-Science in general.
RJ - is it true?
OS - started at RAL - build systems etc.. automated deployments now becoming 
de facto standards.
PG - speeded development process up.
CB - physicist really needs a system - improved OVERALL usage.
JW - University approach generated academic literature and an "expert team".
PW - deployment aspect has particularly improved.
AM - UK now has a bridge between a domestic e-Science programme is plugged into 
International security efforts. 
DK - General area: "Building International Trust".

Applications:
RJ - not just useability, step beyond in terms of user interfaces... still developing.
JW - in 5 years this will transfer to Industry.
RJ - .. via people transfer.
DB - no major industrial partner (yet), therefore unjustified.
PH - middleware for REAL end users rather than middleware development in isolation. Integration has been encouraged and tested in the right forums.
RJ - could aregue that LCG did this (therefore double counting).
PH - re-inforced approach helped.
RJ - other applications: biomed community use of resources.
PH - enormous resources on the basis of existence of GridPP (SRIF3).
RJ - what (real) work with other VOs?
PH - need a more general, nebulous(?) overview approach in addressing links 
with other applications.
DC - have engaged via thousands of jobs.
DB - interdisciplinary research?
DC - can now see things from a different (computing science) perspective.
JW - a critical mass is in itself important.
RN - look at original targets and review in this context.
DB - this was the approach.
DB - now need to see explicitly whether we've "gone the extra mile" (beyond what was stated in the GridPP2 proposal).
