Hi Glenn, CMS are re-evaluating their computing model, both Dave Newbold and neil geddes are involved in the process but the spreadsheet for resource modelling is still at an early stage and so these numbers are a little more finger in the air than I would like but are the best that I can do at the moment. The only obvious thing is that we are short of disk and another ~250TB would be sufficient to enable to have both the RECO and AOD for the first year on disk, which would be of great benefit for UK physicists (and those Physics groups they support). Also we are effectively loosing 200TB because of the import and export buffers. This means that I will be asking for more disk than is available which is something that we will need to discuss and come to some arrangement on in the meeting (or before hand). The Tier 2 numbers are what I actually expect to be on the ground anyway earmarked for CMS. So T2 first (as they are easier) July Aug September CPU 1000 1100 1100 Disk 248 268 268 T1 (harder) July Aug September CPU 850 1250 1250 Disk 850 1100 1100 Tape 700 800 900 The increases in CPU and Tape are very much finger in the air, however the UK does appear to have capacity to cover these but not the disk (which is the one part that isn't). I also wouldn't expect these numbers to change too much in Q4 (infact they are really the numbers that I would hope for in Q4 but have put a ramp up into to cover anything like CSA08 - phase 2) but haven't put these numbers in because I will have updated numbers from the revision of the computing model and so will be able to make a more informed bid in a quarters time. All the best, david
