This page is intended to collate information on use cases accumulated by the Metadata Working Group.
Produced documents
A survey of existing use cases has been performed and distilled to a 13 core use cases common across the HEP community. Each is discussed with emphasis on its implications for metadata applications.
Summaries of the HEPCAL and CDF use case documents have been produced. These note the main themes of the documents in a couple of pages, with some emphasis on metadata issues.
Existing Use Case Documents
- The LHC use case documents, HEPCAL-I and HEPCAL-II. The former focuses on production computing issues, while the latter examines the issues specific to analysis activity.
- The CDF use case document CDF5858.
- Catalog services for ATLAS. It's probably also useful to read the AJDL document and Datasets for the Grid.
